It’s here, it’s here!! My outfit from Ellie finally arrived!  I’ve been waiting over a month for this day, so I was pleasantly surprised to see a shimmery pink parcel on my doorstep when I got home from work.

If you read HLBs (healthy living blogs) you have probably heard of Ellie (formerly pv.body).  If you aren’t familiar with Ellie, allow me to catch you up!  Ellie is a clothing line based in California that creates and produces a new collection of work out clothes for women each month.  For a monthly fee, you can subscribe to Ellie, and pick out 2 pieces from the collection each month that will be shipped to your home.  You can also choose to skip the monthly subscription plan, and buy pieces on your own through their website.

Ellie mixes essential fashion-forward looks with high-tech performance activewear for the most stylish fitness experience you’ve ever had!

To give you a little background, Ellie used to be called pv.body, and operated under a completely different business model.  As a pv.body ambassador (now an Ellie ambassador) I was sent a complimentary outfit to try.  Pv.body’s business model was to send name brand work out clothes to you in your size, with your style preferences, but you could not see what you were getting until it arrived.  A few months ago,  I filled out a style profile with pv.body, and about a month later, received my first pv.body package.

I was pretty disappointed before I even tried it on.  I got a red (a color I do not like to wear) Nux tank top, and American apparel leggings.  The tank top was a brand I had never heard of, and it was so thin, and skin tight, I had to layer it over or under another workout tank, something I don’t usually like to do.  The leggings were ok at first glance, but they quickly fell apart in the wash.  I decided not to do a review of pv.body, because I really don’t like to say anything negative, especially about a brand new company.  I wanted to give them my honest opinion, and see what they had to say.

Instead of doing a review, I wrote to the ambassador contact person at pv.body and told her my thoughts on the shipment, she apologized, and asked me if I would be interested in trying a new line called Ellie.  Of course I said yes (why would anyone ever turn down free workout clothes?) so I filled out another style profile for Ellie, and got to browse their February line before it was open to the public.  They had lots of different options ranging from short sleeve tops, open back tank tops, and long sleeve tops.  I made my pick and submitted my order.

So today, I finally received my Ellie outfit, and I’m in love!  I really think pv.body did the right thing by switching to Ellie.  I know as a consumer, I am much happier knowing what I am getting. Surprises are fun, but not with clothes- especially workout clothes.  With Ellie, I get to look at the all the options, and pick the best one for my personal style and body type.

I chose the Catch me if you can Shirt in Blue:

Thumbs up for thumb holes! Haha.  I seriously love this shirt.  The material is made out of the silkiest, stretchiest dream fabric you can imagine.  The color is like a heathered light blue, which is so pretty, and the white mesh panels add some extra style.  It’s fitted but not unflattering, and It’s not too long for my short torso.  I ordered a medium, and it fit me like a glove.

And the My New Obsession legging:

leggingstreeposeThe leggings are really cool.  They are gray with black designs as you can see in the first picture.  They are thin, but very comfy.  I will test them out for sweat visability in tonight’s core vinyasa class.  And, in case you were wondering, they are also tree pose approved!

For March, Ellie has put together a beautiful collection of all black pieces.  Most of my workout gear is black, but I find it to be the most flattering, and sweat-proof so I am really excited about the LBC!
